With the baby-boom generation getting older everyday, researchers say the number of Americans over age 65 is expected to double from 35 million in 2000 to 70 million in 2030. Although the report shows Americans are living longer they may not necessarily be living better lives. Therefore, innovative programs are needed to offer high-quality care to an aging population at reasonable cost and to help people stay in their own homes as they age. In fact, the best argument for home care is that it is a humane and compassionate way to deliver health care and supportive services.
